About

Kerry Anne Kazokas Kendall

I was born on Freedom Farm in Acton, Massachusetts. My parents later moved to Western Mass to raise us children atop of a mountain where I felt I could touch the sky. We were organic gardeners and we learned how to connect deeply with the land. We lived simply and made Maple Syrup. My time in Colrain and Vermont planted seeds of the wild within me. The rhythms of nature dominated our lives. I still hear the whisper of trees dancing outside my window and the winds blowing through the fields below.

My whole life I have been a seeker. I am seeking healing from past trauma through new and different modes of creative self-expression. I have utilized my artwork as a way to process my lived experiences. Art is my medicine, as is yoga, recovery work with women, and time spent with Mother Earth. With a paintbrush in my hand and a canvas, I express, I paint the beauty of the divine feminine in nature, and I also paint Mother Earth in her unspoiled beauty to honor her. I paint what I feel, I use whatever mediums appeal to me, I sculpt, write, collage, photograph, and I paint.

Since I have become a mother and a full time art educator, my time to create and paint for myself is limited, therefore it has become as sacred as my breath. I light candles, I pray, I give gratitude for the precious drop of time to create. I create what matters. My work goes deep. It is a spiritual process of revelation and uncovering to recover. It is my time to connect to the divine within me.
